Welcome to the Foreign Investment Portal

The Foreign Investment Portal assists investors to meet their obligations under the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975. As an investor or agent, you can use this portal to:

  • Notify Treasury of proposed actions to be taken.
  • Disclose actions that have already been taken.
  • Apply for an exemption certificate.
  • Apply for a variation to a Treasury decision.
  • Meet compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Disclose non-compliance with conditions.
  • Correspond with Treasury.

To access the Foreign Investment Portal, you will need to sign-in using your Digital ID. To conduct business in the portal, you will need to link your account with an agent account or investor account and provide evidence of your authority to act.

What you need to do

  • Create your Digital ID - this lets you prove who you are when you access government online services. As it's your personal Digital ID you should set it up using a personal email address.
